Groves-Raines Architects

Tim Taylor

With over 15 years at Groves-Raines, Tim has extensive experience designing and running projects that have involved the remodelling, refurbishing and extension of existing listed buildings in rural and urban locations. These have ranged in value from £40,000 to £2million. He has also worked on a number of mixed-use large scale developments and feasibility projects. He collaborates with GRAS (www.gras.co) on projects and competitions such as the Galeria Temporanea, part of Scotland’s contribution to the Venice Architecture Biennale 2012, and the shortlisted memorial for Scottish organ donors in Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens.

When not at Groves-Raines his time is spent raising his young family and creating temporary and permanent art works internationally. He has created installations and shown work in a variety of venues, including traditional galleries, public spaces (notably Ekaterinburg, Russia) and uninhabited buildings awaiting development. In more recent years his architectural and artistic pursuits have merged in a number of permanent installations in new buildings for the NHS.

He was the recipient of a Saltire Award for Art in Architecture in 2011 for artworks throughout the West Centre, an NHS children and family centre serving the west of Glasgow.
